'Bella and the Buzzy Bee' was inspired by the fact that my mother, who was born deaf, did not know that snow falls silently until she was in her 40's. One evening when she looked out of the window before going to bed,

she saw that it was snowing and asked me why I had not told her. She assumed I could hear it snowing because of what she 'felt' when she walked on snow.

An illustration to go with an article on inflation / the financial crisis

The man is juggling the word inflation. This was my first 'financial' editorial illustration and I really enjoyed the challenge - didn't expect to! The background is a ten pound note scanned in and enlarged.

Moby Dick Book Cover

Quite a lot of Photoshop work went into this. I wanted to recreate the mystery of the deep sea with layers and I also wanted to illustrate the illusive element of Moby Dick by having his face on the back cover so that the front cover is not obviously an illustration of a whale.
